Here's the promised PIX from that FAB Drag King
weekend, when our local San Francisco Kings co-hosted with the King's
from NYC's Club Casanova
for the first time. It happened again in 2001.
We made it to both Club Confidential & DragStrip! Both of these clubs share some similarities but they are really quite different. For the longest time, the legendary Club Confidential was one of the few dressy Butch Femme clubs around. Jordy Jones & Mr.Stafford are too busy these days to run it anymore. It is sorely missed. You'll notice that people were a bit more dressed at Club Confidential than at DragStrip -- or should I say they were a bit more dressed UP!! DragStrip is a combo drag club/stripper club & being run by Lu Read, has a more bawdy tone. Plus DragStrip always has dancing & is usually in a bigger place & generally in the SOMA/leather area. These events are on film in the movie Gendernauts by Monika Treut. Enjoy.
